Desktop client interface

The interface has a number of parts:

Central section:

The model is viewed here


Left toolbar

This contains the following:

Sign in or out

Show model in webbapp: Click this to open the web app at the page for this model. This allows you to edit style sheets, annotation property templates and annotation sets

Settings:

Clipboard format: When copying values to the clipboard, this selects the format. Depending on the program you will be pasting it into - eg for a spreadsheet, choose 'Tab separated'

Display units: The units of the model is determined by its native CRS, however that can be converted into any of the units in this list.

Auto hide toolbars: When checked the left and right toolbars only display when the mouse is near them. If un-checked, the toolbar handle must be clicked to display and hide it.

Manage cached files: Display a dialog to manage the cached model files

Load model: Show the dialog to load your models

About: Show the program version and support links

Help: Show the main help topics

Quit: Exit the program


Right toolbar

This contains the following:

Display items

Orthographic camera: Display the model in orthographic or perspective view

Ortho viewport height: When in orthographic mode, the vertical extent of the view can be set here

Normal shading mix: This shades the model surface according to the direction of the normal to the surface at that point - this can be used to more easily see the texture of a surface


Adding Planes

Add 3 point plane: Specify a plane by selecting 3 points on the surface of the model

Vertical, normal to point: A plane will be created that is vertical and aligned with the normal to the selected point on the model

Horizontal, normal to point: A plane will be created that is horizontally aligned with the normal to the selected point on the model

Horizontal, through point: A horizontal plane at the height specified by a point on the model

2 point plane vertical: A vertical plane specified by 2 points on the model

Normal and offset: A plane specified by its normal and the distance to the origin


Tools

Measure distance: Opens a dialog and allows the distance between 2 points on the model to be calculated

Annotation Table: Opens a table displaying the annotations currently displayed on the model

Add annotations: Opens a dialog allowing annotations to be added to the model

Annotation style sheet: Opens a dialog allowing the current style sheet to be selected

CRS: Opens a dialog allowing the current Coordinate Reference System to be selected

Annotation sets: Opens a dialog allowing the current annotation set to be selected
